Fix Error Code 0x80073cf9 in Windows 8 while Installing App
App Store was introduced in the latest Redmond OS (Windows 8), to download software or App in it. Windows 8 also has ability to run softwares which are made for Windows 7 but they are not fully compatible with the Metro Display of Windows 8.
Now many folks are reporting that Windows 8 App store is not letting them download any app, rather it is giving them an unknown kind of messages with certain types of codes like 0x80073cf9:
Something happened and this app couldn’t be installed. Please try again. Error code: 0x80073cf9
And when this error message displayed you only have 2 option Try Again or Cancel install. But even if you hit the try again button it will show you same message again and again. So to solve this problem you have to try a couple of things by which you can solve this error.
This solution worked most of the times for many users. To fix the error code 0x80073cf9 navigate to C:\Windows then search for a folder named as AUInstallAgent. If you can’t find this folder, then create it manually.
Disable your antivirus or any other security software, along with firewall and then try to re-download app again.
Go to C:\Program Files, then created a folder named as “WindowsApps”, after doing it restart you PC.
By Syncing the App license you can also fix this problem.
- Press Windows key and come to start menu.
- Now click on Store and open it.
- Press Windows+i button at the same time, then you can see the green menu will appear on the right side.
- Select App updates from the given options.
- Now click on Sync license.
Hopefully error 0x80073cf9 will fix by using an upper guide, but if unfortunately upper methods don’t work for you and error is coming again and again. Then there only one way to solve it, by reinstalling windows 8 you can do it.
